| Background & History |
In 1998 Global Wrapps was established by Fournews Developments, the founders of News Cafe and Fusion Foods. In 2002 Nick Nicolau, then director and founding member of the Ocean Basket Group, sold his interest in the Ocean Basket Group and concluded a co-operation agreement with Fournews Developments. The agreement ensured his full control over the growth and development of Global Wrapps, while still gaining benefit from the resources and experience of the hugely successful Fournews Developments Group.
Nick Nicolau provided finance and advice to his brother-in-law, Peter Lazeredis, to start Ocean Basket in 1995. In 1996, with two stores operational, Nick bought into the group and was instrumental in planning and implementing a growth strategy that saw Ocean Basket grow to over 40 stores by 2000. Nick has been involved in assorted retail operations, in various positions, over the last 20 years and has several academic qualifications in this area.
